Getting Started with Microchurch

How The Microchurch Forms

Microchurches form when believers live as disciple-making missionaries in their relational contexts helping people discover belonging, purpose, and freedom in God’s family through faith in Jesus. Relational contexts are the people networks to which we’re connected by shared experiences or places—where we live, learn, work, or play. As people within our relational contexts trust Jesus as Lord and Savior, they will want to gather because the church is a gathering body.

What The Microchurch Is

A microchurch is a group of people connected by a relational or geographic context who gather to:

What The Microchurch Does

Jesus stands at the center of the microchurch. Everything revolves around Him and points to Him. The Holy Spirit directs each gathering and leads the church to accomplish whatever Jesus desires. Practically, everyone involved in a microchurch prays, cares for, celebrates with, and loves one another all the while encouraging one another to worship and obey Jesus by becoming mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Him and to share the Father’s heart with as many people as possible in their relational contexts.

The Impact of a Microchurch

It might sound like a “micro” church would have a “small” impact. They don’t. They change people for eternity. That is the biggest impact any church can hope to have! Microchurches are designed to multiply as disciples make disciples who then form more microchurches. Through multiplication the microchurch has an exponential impact.
